What services do you offer?
We specialize in Mudjacking (also known as void filling, slab jacking, concrete leveling, concrete lifting and concrete raising). Basically we level sinking concrete. For instance, we fix sunken concrete steps, level uneven patios, fix sinking walkways, level uneven driveways, level garage floors, and fix other uneven concrete. We provide residential and commercial mudjacking in and around St. Louis, MO.
What is mudjacking and how does it work?
Mudjacking is the process of raising sunken concrete using a mixture of mud. Mudjacking is done by drilling small, 1 inch holes in a concrete slab, then pumping a grout mixture under the slab to make it level. After the concrete is at the desired height, the holes are filled with more concrete.
What types of surfaces do you mudjack or level?
We are experts at mudjacking and repairing sunken sideways, garage floors, driveway slabs, concrete patios, and various other slabs around your home’s exterior.

Why do I need concrete leveling?
Simply put, to protect you and your home. If your concrete slabs fail to flow water away from your home, you risk lots of costly water damage to your home. A new foundation or foundation bracing can cost tens of thousands of dollars…. No thanks. However, in some instances, water damage isn’t the issue. Sometimes it just makes sense to level an area so that it’s easy and safe to walk on. Those are the two most common reasons we help customers.
We also provide service to commercial customers, such as warehouse leveling, commercial concrete leveling, commercial void filling, and more.
How much does mudjacking cost?
Like anything else, the cost of mudjacking depends on the scope of the project. At minimum a job runs a few hundred dollars. But for larger projects, it may run a few thousand. Either way mudjacking is cheap and much more affordable than getting new concrete. To get a FREE estimate, be sure to contact us right away.

Will I save money by mudjacking instead of replacing the concrete?
Absolutely! Most mudjacking services cost half, if not a third, as much as replacing concrete.
Why has my concrete sunken / no longer level?
Mother nature can do a number on the soil and ground beneath your concrete. Over time, soil settles, erosion happens, and nature takes its toll, causing your once level concrete to shift and settle. It’s a totally natural occurrence, and it’s most prevalent in areas of the country where there is an annual freeze-thaw cycle, like St. Louis. Through this shifting of earth, your concrete may sink, raise, and even crack. The good news is that mudjacking can help level your concrete once again.
There is a “void” in my concrete. What does that mean?
A void is an empty space under the concrete caused by water eroding the soil. This can lead to buckling, cracking, or settling of the concrete above.
Are rodents a reason why my concrete cracks and buckles?
They certainly could be. Some rodents, like groundhogs, dig tunnels that can cause the concrete above to buckle, crack or settle.
Should I just replace my concrete instead of mudjacking it?
Tearing out and replacing concrete slabs/patios/floors can be very expensive – usually far more than the cost of mudjacking. Mudjacking also takes a much shorter amount of time to complete. Once we’re done mudjacking, you’ll be able to walk on the area also immediately – no waiting for concrete to dry. And it’s a much less messy process than new concrete work.
How long does mudjacking take?
Depending on the mudjacking service, you can expect mudjacking to take anywhere from 1 hour to most of the day. However, once finished, you can immediately walk on the concrete that has been fixed.
Do I have to be home while you mudjack?
If the slabs you need mudjacked are on the exterior of your home, then, no, you don’t need to be home. We can fix sidewalks, patios, etc, while you’re away. However, if you need a slab in your garage or other interior area mudjacked, then we’ll need you there.
What exactly is the mudjacking process?

Why should I do choose concrete leveling instead of just replacing my concrete?
If your concrete is not heavily cracked, concrete leveling will be about 1/2 to 1/3 less expensive than replacing the concrete. You will also save time and hassle by choosing concrete leveling. The process usually takes a couple of hours instead of several days, and you can drive or walk on the surface within hours rather than waiting a day or two for concrete to dry.
Will there be a lot of noise? What about dust and debris?
Mudjacking pumps make about as much noise as a lawnmower. In terms of dust and debris, part of the process involves drilling small holes, which may make some dust. Occasionally, concrete needs to be sawed, which can make a lot of dust. If you’d like to manage the amount of dust, water can be used during this process.
How much space do you need when completing this project?
The amount of space needed depends on the services you require. Give us a call or send a message to get a better estimate of space needed for your situation.
Will mudjacking cause damage to my yard or sprinklers?
In most situations, you will not see any damage from the mudjacking process. However, if your yard is wet and soft or sprinklers are running, there may be small ruts created by the pump.
Could my concrete crack during the mudjacking process?
It is possible that your concrete will crack when being moved into place during the mudjacking process. Some concrete, when sunken, gets small cracks on the bottom that are not necessarily visible. When moved, this crack could become larger. However, these cracks are not caused by mudjacking. If you use experienced, professional mudjackers who use the correct process, cracking is highly unlikely.
How many holes can I expect?
The number of holes depends on the size of the area being leveled and the way in which the concrete has moved.
Will any patched holes match the current concrete?
Probably not, unless your concrete is new. Newer concrete is lighter, meaning the patched holes will probably match it better. Older concrete will be darker than the new patching, but that will darken to match over time.
What problems might I experience if I decide to mudjack?
If you hire a mudjacking company that does not use the correct methods, your concrete may crack. That’s why St Louis Mudjacking is a great choice!
What happens if I don’t mudjack?
That all depends on the problem area. If you have a walkway or patio slab that slopes towards your home, you risk costly water damage as water washes into your home’s foundation. If the problem area is away from your home’s exterior, you may risk tripping and falling – which can also be costly to you and your guests. So when in doubt, slab jack it!
How can I prevent concrete from sinking or cracking?
In order to keep your concrete level, you must ensure the soil under it is completely compacted. It is also important that all outdoor ground slopes away from your house. Additionally, maintain your home’s drainage systems so water does not become trapped under concrete, and that all holes or cracks in concrete slabs are sealed.
Is it possible to lower concrete slabs?
Concrete cannot be lowered using a mudjacking process. Mudjacking can raise the adjoining concrete slabs to make the area level, or we can apply a concrete grinding process to even out the concrete.
Can you level my sidewalk if tree roots have caused it to lift or buckle?
In most cases, yes. If tree roots have caused your concrete to shift, we can use the mudjacking process or concrete grinding to level the area. However, when a tree root has caused movement, the concrete will not be able to be lowered.
What is “grinding” and how is it used?
Concrete grinding is when concrete is shaved (or “ground”) down to match the height of adjoining slabs. Grinding is a good solution for slabs that cannot be leveled by mudjacking. Grinding is another solution to uneven concrete that is much cheaper than replacement.
How long will these services last?
When you choose the St Louis Mudjacking for a mudjacking or concrete leveling service, the results will last many years. Our grout product is a mixture of crushed rock that will not deteriorate or settle. In some cases, the soil may erode or shift again, but the concrete can be easily moved using the same holes.
What maintenance is required after a mudjacking or leveling service?
Sometimes there is some minor maintenance required to maintain your mudjacked or leveled area. Depending on the project, you may need to caulk joints or update drainage – but simply stuff. We can advise you on what kind of maintenance you can expect when you call for your free estimate. Also, if we are drilling into a colored concrete, we will do our best to patch the hole with a matching color. But that doesn’t require any additional work for you.
If I need mudjacking, does that mean my home has structural issues?
Probably not, and mudjacking or concrete leveling can help avoid future problems with your home’s foundation.
What about DIY mudjacking?
My father-in-law did his own DIY mudjacking and raised his sidewalk about 3″. However do-it-yourself mudjacking is not an easy task. My father-in-law is a retired farmer, and an all around amazing handyman. He also used a tractor and multiple large car jacks for his diy concrete raising project. It turned out amazing. Unfortunately most of us don’t have the tools or time for diy concrete lifting. If you came here thinking about how to raise a concrete slab yourself, but have changed your mind… give us a call today. We are the best mudjacking contractor in St. Louis, and we stand by our mudjacking services.
Do I need a building permit?
